The Milwaukee Bucks routed the Boston Celtics, 116-92, in their first home game of the 2018 playoffs on Friday night, and some stars were in attendance.
The announcement came between the first and second quarters of the Eastern Conference playoff game at BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The Bucks declined to release details regarding the amount of Rodgers stake in the team. "I am excited to honored to deepen my connection to the region by joining Wes Edens, Marc Lasry, Jamie Finan, Mike Fascitelli and the ownership group of the Milwaukee Bucks". He's supported the Badgers during their sporting events, attended Bucks games, and has been a fan of the Brewers.
Since the Bucks' current owners took over prior to the 2014-15 season, they have made three postseason appearances.
Rodgers is from California but has embraced the Wisconsin sports scene since being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2005. "We are thrilled for Aaron to be with us".
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Rodgers becomes the first active National Football League player to own a piece of a major sports franchise in the market in which he plays.
