Jodie Foster is having a busy night in the new trailer for "Hotel Artemis". However, it turns out that Waikiki took something that he wasn't supposed to: a portable vault that's disguised as a pen and is worth about $18 million. Foster plays the hospital's main nurse and overseer. The thriller is Pearce's directorial debut, and he's managed to assemble a star-studded cast that includes Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Charlie Day, Jeff Goldblum, and Sofia Boutella. You can watch the first trailer for Hotel Artemis in the space above.
Pearce was brought on to co-write Iron Man 3 with Shane Black and the two got along famously, coming up with the brilliant Mandarin twist that sets that film apart in the MCU. Pearce also had a hand in writing the perennially delayed Sherlock Holmes 3 for Robert Downey Jr. and a now cancelled Ghostbusters spinoff that would have starred Channing Tatum, potentially opposite Chris Pratt. Entitled Hotel Artemis, it's an action-thriller focussing on a members-only secret hospital in Los Angeles that caters towards criminals.
From there it seems the rag-tag crew of criminals have to fight their way out of the hotel before The Wolf King (Jeff Goldblum) finds them.
Global Road acquired Hotel Artemis in February in a deal sources pegged at $4 million, one of the first moves under the re-branded company being led by chairman and CEO Rob Friedman.
The movie, which is produced by Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and The Ink Factory's Stephen Cornwell and Simon Cornwell, hits theaters June 8.
