Gorakhpur Pjulpur Araria Bhabua Jehanabad bypoll results on Wednesday key test for BJP JDU opposition

In Jehanabad, RJD's Suday Yadav, son of deceased MLA Mundrika Singh Yadav is ahead of his rival from JD (U) Abhiram Sharma, according to latest trends.

In Jehanabad assembly seat the postal ballots are about 150.

Jehangabad SS College has been selected as the counting centre for the counting of votes for the assembly.

In Bihar's Araria parliamentary by election 57 per cent polling was registered.

In Araria, Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Pradip Kumar Singh is leading over RJD candidate Sarfaraz Alam. In Bhabhua assembly seat, Ms Rinki Rani Pandey of BJP has succeeded to maintain a lead of 9,866 votes over her nearest rival Shambhu Singh Patel of Congress.

The RJD-Congress alliance is upbeat after a good voter turnout in Araria, Bhabua and Jehanabad and expressed confidence that the alliance candidates will win. According to the Election Commission, there are 1.96 million (19.61 lakh) voters in Phulpur parliamentary constituency, while the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat has a 1.95 million (19.49 lakh) electorate. The seat was vacated by Keshav Prasad Maurya, who became the deputy CM of the state in 2017.
