Tony Cavalero, who starred in the TV series "School of Rock", has signed to play rocker Ozzy Osbourne in Netflix's Mötley Crüe biopic, "The Dirt". Rapper Machine Gun Kelly has been cast as drummer Tommy Lee, English actor Douglas Booth has been cast as bassist Nikki Sixx, Daniel Webber (The Punisher) was cast as Vince Neil, and Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) is Mick Mars. Further, the script has been adapted by Rich Wilkes, Tom Kapinos, and Amanda Adelson. He then became an even bigger star in the 1980s when Motley Crue emerged.

This was then confirmed, with the first cast members revealed late past year, with Douglas Booth playing Nikki Sixx, and Machine Gun Kelly taking the role of Tommy Lee.

An adaptation of The Dirt has been gestating for more than a decade, with Paramount Pictures, Focus Features and MTV Films bosses all attached to it at different times. The band formed in Los Angeles in January 1981 and went to sell more than 100 million records worldwide, with a quarter of that coming from the U.S. Julie Yorn, Erik Olsen, and Allen Kovac are producing.

On the work front, Cavalero was seen as Dewey Finn on Nickelodeon's "School of Rock" in the role initiated by Jack Black in the 2003 flick.
