Shoe hurled at PTI chief Imran in Pakistan

Nation prospers when money is spend on people, not roads: Imran Khan during PTI Gujrat campaign

There seems to be no end in sight to the increasing shoe attacks on political leaders as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan became the latest casualty on Tuesday during the party's rally in Gujarat.

Past year in August, the lawmaker from Waziristan had accused Imran Khan of sexual harassment, alleging that the honour of PTI female members were not safe from PTI chief and his gang. The PTI leader brushed off his chest and continued to smile. Even after the incident occurred, Khan rather than stopping concluded his speech. It had followed some media reports suggesting that she will join PML-N.

The incident took place two days after ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif was attacked with a shoe at Lahore seminary. Following the incident, the attacker was detained by the seminary's administration and later handed over to the police.

The attacks on country's top politicians drew condemnation from ruling and opposition parties. After throwing the show at Nawaz Sharif man also raised the slogan "Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah". A man was arrested after the incident.

Last month, a man hurled a shoe at Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal while he was addressing a workers' convention in Narowal.
