Sergio Garcia's daughter has the ideal golf name

Did Sergio Garcia name his new daughter after a hole at The Masters

Since his Masters victory, as well as getting married and having his first child, Garcia also won the Andalucia Valderrama Masters and was named European Tour Player of the Year.

"I look forward to everything, you know, to spending it with my wife, Angela, to trying to raise our daughter the best way possible, trying to make all the decisions as well as we can", Garcia said Tuesday from the hospital.

Congratulations to Angela Garcia and her husband Sergio, as she gives birth to their first child.

Today, the couple has welcomed their first child, a little girl - and her name could not be more ideal given where her dad enjoyed his finest hour as a professional golfer.

First, he ended his long wait for a major championship at the Masters Tournament last April.

'Beautiful Azalea Adele Garcia was born on March 14 at 1:54am.

Reigning Masters champion Sergio Garcia was forced to give a press conference from a hospital room in Austin, Texas, after his wife went into labour yesterday.

The Masters gets underway from April 5-9th where Sergio defends the title he won a year ago by beating Justin Rose in a playoff.

"It's been an eventful morning", Garcia, 38, said.

And so for a name.... well his 2017 Masters victory is still clearly very much on his mind, and the little lady has been named Azalea, after the 13th at Augusta, which proved to be a critical moment in Sergio's eventual Masters victory.
