SC women's team a No. 2 seed in NCAAs

Cal is headed to the women's NCAA basketball tournament for the sixth time in seven years, but the seventh-seeded Bears have their work cut out for them.

The 15th-seeded Aggies will take on defending national champion and No. 2 seed SC in Colonial Life Arena on Friday at 7:30 a game that will be shown live on ESPN2.

The game is scheduled for 7:30 Colonial Life Arena, and ESPN2 will televise it. As a No. 2 seed, the Gamecocks will host the first two rounds at Colonial Life Arena.

Single-session tickets for the first and second rounds will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tue., March 13. Youth, University faculty/staff, and group pricing are also available.

South Carolina, No. 7 in the latest Associated Press poll, is 26-6 overall and the defending national champion.

A&T heads into the tournament on an 11-game winning streak and with 19 wins in their last 20 games.

The No. 7/8 Gamecocks won their fourth-straight SEC Tournament championship this season after notching three wins over ranked opponents in a stretch highlighted by a 62-51 victory over No. 2 Mississippi State in the title game.

SC will make its 15th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history this weekend.
