World number one Roger Federer picked up where he left off, winning the four games he needed to defeat Federico Delbonis today after their match was interrupted the night before by rain.

The 36-year-old Federer needed just 58 minutes as he overpowered the Serb with a brilliant display of serving and extended his flawless record this season to 14-0.

Wozniacki, who won her first Grand Slam at this year's Australian Open, came through in three sets 6-4 2-6 6-3.

Coric will play the victor of the match between Fernando Verdasco and American Taylor Fritz in round four.

With rivals Rafa Nadal, Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray electing not to enter the tournament, and Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori both eliminated, the path appears clear for the Swiss to win a record sixth Indian Wells title. The 26-year-old Bulgarian No. 1 has never made it past the third round in seven appearances.

The defending champion will now face Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in the next round.

"It is an unbelievable feeling when you come to a tournament like this and in a stadium with a good atmosphere against one of the top players in the world".

"So it was a really good feeling".

"He hasn't got the biggest serve out there so you get a lot of looks to break and when you have momentum on your side - not only serving but from the baseline, things go very quickly".

"I am just going to enjoy the victory and try to keep it going in the next round and make it as far as possible".

In other action, Croatian Borna Coric defeated 13th seed Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1, 6-3.
