Rachel Riley weighs in on 'mob bullying' after Jamie Carragher spitting video

Robbie Fowler- Fowler supported Everton as a youngster but joined the Reds’ academy at the age of 11. He’s said he’d always known Liverpool were a better team

Footage filmed by the parent and obtained by the Daily Mirror shows the father tease Carragher about the result as the pair drive alongside each other after the game.

In a tweet on Sunday night, Carragher wrote: "Totally out of order & Ive apologised personally to all the family this evening".

Carragher, being goaded by a Man United fan in a auto, was filmed opening his window and spitting towards the shocked supporter and his daughter.

In a video of the incident, the teenage girl's father repeatedly mentioned the score in the match and Carragher is heard to say, "Alright", before appearing to spit at the vehicle alongside his.

The fallout from Jamie Carragher's "moment of madness" continues.

"You can't condone that behaviour".

He said his "biggest regret was that a young girl was caught up in the middle of the altercation". "I'd like to apologise once more to them all".

"I've made mistakes in my 25-year career, but this is the worst one".

In a statement cited in a Sky Sports story on the incident, the network said it "takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie's actions".

"It was a moment of madness, it's hard for me to explain", Carragher said to presenter Sarah Hewson.

Following his suspension from Sky Sports, the family have spoken in support of Jamie, and revealed they don't want him to get sacked from his punditry position.

Jamie Carragher should remain in his role with Sky Sports despite being suspended for spitting in the direction of a 14-year-old girl, colleague Gary Neville has said.

He tweeted: "I've just watched Carra23 say sorry".

He told the Mirror: "We wanted an apology and an explanation".

It claimed in its article: "As evidenced by the video retired footballer Vinnie Jones has made public, the now-Hollywood actor was "having a laugh" at Carragher's expense, as he himself has admitted in a subsequent interview".

"I've been on TV for 3 years with him and imo this isolated incident shouldn't stop us working together".
