Chris Liddell joined the administration during the transition after Donald Trump's election.
Liddell, former chief financial officer at Microsoft and General Motors, will be given the title of deputy chief of staff for policy coordination, Politico reports.
He worked on the Trump transition effort and had been working on projects in the White House Office of American Innovation, which was created in March previous year to leverage business ideas and potentially privatise some government functions.
"In his new role Chris will manage the policy process as we continue to enact the President's agenda", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a press release Monday, noting that Liddell (pictured above, right) "will work closely with Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Joe Hagin".
Chris Liddell now serves as the White House director of strategic initiatives and he will likely be controlling the policy-making decisions in his new position.
