Netflix takes on Beastmaster again

Netflix has committed to a third installment of Ultimate Beastmaster, with the new season set to launch on the streaming service later this year.

Wade Barrett and CM Punk are looking to expand their talents in the entertainment industry. What's the story?

The series was the first competition show greenlit by Netflix.

In case you didn't know.

. Over 100 competitors from nine countries will compete.

Punk was last seen on WWE programming in 2014, and has since tried his hand in the world of MMA. Barrett, on the other hand, was released by WWE in 2016.

Each country has their own commentary team and hosts for the show. The new hosts for Season 3 are MMA fighter and WWE alum CM Punk (for the USA version), actor and former WWE grappler Stu Bennett and sports journalist Kate Abdo (UK), singer-actress Dannii Minogue and media personality/former rugby player Nick Cummins (Australia) and radio/TV host Micky Beisenherz and actress Jeannine Michaelsen (Germany).

Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for further updates on the development and filming of the third season of Ultimate Beastmaster. Punk is also expected to fight for UFC in Chicago at UFC 225, though nothing is official. It should be noted that Punk will host the shows in the United States, while Barrett will host in the U.K. I would assume that was the intention of bringing those two in, to capture the pro wrestling fan segment.
