MISSING: Police Searching for Mississauga Man

Peel Regional Police are warning the public about a man impersonating an officer in Mississauga.

"Progress has been made and investigators now have credible information that the persons responsible are originally from British Columbia, specifically the Lower Mainland area and they recently travelled to the Greater Toronto Area", a statement from police said Monday.

A 29-year-old man with autism was left with a broken nose and cuts to his face when he was attacked in the Square One bus terminal on March 13. The man is seen possibly putting on or taking off a pair of rollerblades at the time. The three males begin punching and kicking the victim, who is seen trying to protect his face with his hands.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"He's pretty upset about the whole situation and he's getting a lot of support from the community and his family, as well, but he's quite upset about what took place". "Once we released that video, it was fantastic to see not only the tips we received but also the response from the community for the victim himself - all the well-wishes and people wanting to reach out to the victim", Sohi said.

Yashnyk did not specify if the video has been shared with police in B.C.

The female suspect is described as white, 21-22 years old, with a thin build. She was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up underneath a red sweatshirt, grey track trousers with white writing on the right hip, black shoes, and a black ski mask covering her face. The second is clean shaven, and the third has a medium build and is being described as unshaven by police. He was wearing a zippered hoodie with the hood up, black hat, black Adidas track trousers with blue stripes, and a black scarf covering his face. He was wearing a black hoodie with a Nike logo on the front and white Nike lettering along the sleeves, black track trousers and black shoes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233, or if they wish to remain anonymous, to call Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, visit their website or text 27467 with the world "peel" and their tip.
