Is John Kelly's White House Job 'Punishment From God'?

John Kelly: Leaving DHS to Work in Trump's White House Was Punishment From God

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly cracked a joke on Thursday during his appearance celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Department of Homeland Security.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly lamented his short tenure as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and jokingly said his switch to the West Wing was a punishment from God. "But I did something wrong and God punished me, I guess".

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly walks with ex-Staff Secretary Rob Porter to depart with President Trump aboard the Marine One helicopter in November. He was initially appointed to lead DHS in January 2017.

He began his remarks on Thursday by telling the crowd, "I miss every one of you, every day".

Kelly also found himself in the middle of a Trump family spat after he chose to downgrade the top-secret security clearance for Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, on Tuesday. Should Kelly consider doing some stand up comedy once he completes his mission at the White House?

"The reason the morale is awful is that the rule by fear and intimidation does not work in a civilian environment", Scaramucci said referring to Kelly.

The crowd laughed, and Kelly continued.

Kelly was Trump's first homeland security secretary and remained in the job for six months before Trump tapped him to replace Reince Priebus at the White House.

"Long hours and Fake reporting makes your job more hard, but it is always great to WIN, and few have won more than us!"
