"I couldn't remove my shirt, couldn't act cute, nothing, so I had to be me" Varun Dhawan also added that he needed this film in his career right now regardless of anyone saying anything. He said 'I'm an honest person, this, what you see outside (image) is not me.' I told him to be himself in the film. "I need the film more than anyone else in the room at this point of time in my career", Dhawan said at the film's trailer launch on Monday. It would be better the more money you invent on films and script.
Talking about the film and his role, which is quite different than his earlier releases, Varun said, "This film is based on honesty". An intense love story picturised by fabulous cinematography set against a winter backdrop, the film looks to bring typical Bollywood romance flavours. "So, when a few films of mine did well I thought of approaching him". "They signed me for the film even before Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2", said Dhawan.
Besides being an emotional journey for him, the film turned out to be a learning experience for Varun. Talking about working with Dhawan, Sircar was cited in Times Of India saying, "I had a different perception (of him) all together, of people who become overnight stars with insane fan following, which I'm not used to". I started doing that and felt a huge change. And seems like the Bollywood young gun is set to put up another solid performance, in Shoojit Sircar's "October".
