Giants Signing Former Dolphins Safety Michael Thomas

Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa can't make the

The 28-year-old Thomas was a captain for the Dolphins the last two years and will join Landon Collins and Darian Thompson at the position.

The Giants reportedly added some secondary help Monday, agreeing to terms with former Dolphins safety Michael Thomas.

It's not surprising that the Dolphins aren't re-signing Thomas, then, considering owner Stephen Ross' comments to the Daily News in early March that "all of our players will be standing".

Thomas has been one of the best special teams players in the National Football League for the last few seasons.

A Houston native, Thomas entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2012 with San Francisco.

Thomas will be reunited with Lou Anarumo, who is the Giants' new defensive backs coach and held the same role when Thomas played in Miami.

In Thomas' case, the ability to lead has been proven.

Thomas won fans over in his first game with the Dolphins back in December of 2013.

In addition to his duties at safety, Thomas made a name for himself as a special teams defender and even earned special teams captaincy duties.

Last season, Thomas appeared in 13 games and finished with 16 tackles. He tallied double figures in the category in each of his four full seasons in Miami, including 11 last season.
