Former President Obama picks Michigan State, UConn in NCAAs

Barack Obama

While current president Donald Trump doesn't fill out NCAA Tournament brackets, former president Barack Obama continues to participate in the annual ritual enjoyed by millions.

Barack Obama's picks from the 2018 NCAA tournament are in - and he's taking a bit of a risk in the men's bracket. Villanova and defending champion North Carolina rounded out his Final Four.

Obama picked the Spartans to beat No. 1 overall seed Virginia in the title game. Unsurprisingly, the longtime Chicago native has Loyola-Chicago knocking off Miami in a 6-11 showdown in the South.

Obama's bracket is pretty light on upsets this year.

Obama has Kentucky's other tournament team, Murray State, losing the first round to West Virginia.

He also has Texas (10) over Nevada (7). He has UConn avenging its Final Four loss to Mississippi State a year ago in the title game.

Past year he picked the North Carolina men and UConn women to win, and at least the Tar Heels obliged.

On the women's side, Obama has the unbeaten Huskies, the overall No. 1 seed, defeating Saint Francis, Quinnipiac, Duke, and SC to reach the Final Four along with Louisville, Notre Dame and Mississippi State.

Oh, and if you were wondering, President Trump opted not to fill out a bracket a year ago.
