A former NASCAR race truck driver is in the Seminole County Jail after federal investigators say he tried to meet an underage girl for sex.
Court records, obtained by the Orlando Sentinel, state since February 10th Crawford was allegedly communicating with an undercover deputy attempting to meet a young girl for sex.
He's being held without bond on federal charges in the Seminole County jail, records show.
According to court documents obtained by Kickin' the Tires, Crawford was allegedly caught in a sting operation by officers trying to pay for sex with a 12-year-old girl.
The undercover detective arranged for Crawford to meet him in a Wendy's parking lot near the Lake Mary Boulevard exit at I-4, where deputies arrested him, according to the complaint. He was taken into custody after arriving at the parking lot.
Crawford is said to have told authorities he showed up to see if the "Dad" actually had a daughter, but he would not have gone through with it if he did.
He raced in the truck series from 1997 until 2013, starting 336 races and tallying five victories.
