Ex-Patriots RB Dion Lewis off free agent market for Raiders

Joining the NY teams in pursuit of Lewis are the Dolphins, Titans, Texans, Colts and 49ers, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. That hard work - and New England's 32-4 record with him in the lineup - paid off in the form of a four-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

His latest deal will far outpace the two-year, $2.6 million contract he'd signed with the Patriots prior to the 2016 season. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network adds that the deal will pay Lewis like "a Top 10 running back in the NFL".

Lewis had 180 rushes for 896 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Patriots in 2017.

Otherwise, Lewis' fellow Eagles free agent teammate, LeGarrette Blount, could be another interesting alternative for Indianapolis.

No NFL running back rushed for more yards over the second half of the season than Lewis did, and only Offensive Rookie of the Year Alvin Kamara amassed more all-purpose yards during that span.

General manager Jon Robinson started in New England, head coach Mike Vrabel was a star linebacker with the Patriots, and now they are assembling a roster full of former Patriots.

Lewis would certainly fit in Pat Shurmur's scheme because of his ability to be a home run hitter as a ball-carrier and threat as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.

The 2018 season will feature a reunion, as the Patriots and Titans are scheduled to square off at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
