Declan Donnelly beams from ear-to-ear after wife Ali's pregnancy reveal

Happier times The make-up artist's estranged husband Ant Mc Partlin was charged with drink driving this week and has gone back to rehab

After a week of sadness and heartbreaking decisions, Declan Donnelly shined a bright light on the future by confirming that he and wife Ali Astall were expecting a baby.

Donnelly, 42, and Astall, 40, met when she worked as his talent manager. However, Dec has revealed the good news that he and wife, Ali, are expecting their first child.

He posted: "Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it. D x (sic)".

They said: "They are both absolutely delighted to be expecting - especially as they have been trying for some time".

Declan Donnelly's baby news has come at a hard time for his best pal Ant McPartlin, as the troubled star has always wanted a family.

Reports suggested ITV was considering scrapped Ant and Dec from the reality TV show set in the jungle.

However, now that Astall passed the 12-week mark, the pair chose to go public with the pregnancy.

Suzuki has confirmed that it will be dropping its adverts featuring Ant and Dec following Ant McPartlin's drink driving charge.

'Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.

ITV were reportedly affected by the decision not to air last weekend's episode, with the broadcaster "losing 3 million viewers" after the show was replaced by The Voice on Saturday evening.

A child passenger in one of the cars - a green Mini - was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Others involved were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

ITV and Dec then chose to cancel one night of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway with Dec heading back to take the reigns for the final two shows alone. After being released from police custody the following day he was later charged and is due to appear in Wimbledon magistrates court on April 4.
