Arsenal, Wenger reveals:

Arsene Wenger has revealed that both Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud did not want to leave Arsenal.

"You have to be demanding of yourself".

Speaking to French newspaper L'Equipe, Giroud said: "Some football legends, such as Robert Pires, who's a friend, Freddy Ljungberg or even some former Chelsea payers have said to me that Chelsea's game would suit me because they have always played with a big forward up front and they cross the ball a lot".

'When you sign like that in January, it's never easy because you have to acclimatize to your team. Text the word "SPORTS" to 22840 and receive local and worldwide sports news as it happens.

Giroud says he pays close attention to such statistics and wishes he had done better.

"But I should have had more goals". It's true I played some poor matches, but the content of my game has been very encouraging'.

In terms of statistics, I am very attached to this, I remain stuck at one goal and three assists in five appearances.

'It is sure that it is not enough. But the content of my game is very encouraging'.

Giroud also went on to state that he is settling in well at Chelsea mainly due to his team-mates, "I am happy with my adaptation, the welcome I received, the relationship on the ground with my team-mates".

Giroud, whose only goal for the Blues came against Hull in the FA Cup, added: "I am very proud to have reached the 30 goals for France and just to be part of that list of the top scorers. In time I will do it".

Giroud will be hoping to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to Premier League action after the worldwide break with a crunch clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
