His first multi-point game came on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights, assisting on three goals en route to a 5-2 win for Minnesota.
Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau wasn't extremely clear on the extent of defenseman Jonas Brodin's injury after practice at Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday.
Brodin was hurt in the second period at St. Louis on Tuesday night.
The Wild are 18-4-4 at home this season. Brodin has also amassed 24 penalty minutes.
Brodin played in 68 games last season for the second straight year but hit a career high in points with 25, across three goals and 22 helpers. His Corsi for percentage is 45 at the time of the injury, and -2.4 relative to his team. His career PDO is over 100, and he has started nearly 53% of his shifts in the defensive zone.
He is a former No. 10-overall pick by Minnesota back in 2011. He was the third defenceman taken in the draft, behind Adam Larsson (4th), and Dougie Hamilton (9th). Ryan Suter, Jared Spurgeon, and Mathew Dumba will need to shoulder a bit more of the load.
Either Olofsson or Mike Reilly has been a healthy scratch for much of the season, but both are going to get an opportunity to play on a regular basis until Brodin returns. They will begin a five-game homestand Thursday against NHL-worst Arizona.
