Raheem Sterling's future at Manchester City has been 'plunged into doubt'
Real Madrid are poised to make a move for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling with the Premier League side yet to offer the in-form winger a new contract.
Sterling is behind only Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah and Sergio Aguero in terms of goals scored, and has finally managed to cement his place as a vital player for Manchester City in his third season with the club.
The England worldwide has been one of the stars of City's outstanding season, scoring 20 goals for Pep Guardiola's side.
Sterling, thought to be earning £180,000-per-week, is now under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2020, which would mean he will enter the final two years of that deal this summer.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has spoken publicly of his admiration of Sterling and could be interested this summer if the uncertainty over his future remains.
Sterling's current contract is said to be worth around £180,000-a-week.
Having agreed new deals with teammates David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne City are, according to the report, "making Sterling sweat" over offering him an improved contract. It's claimed that he expects a large increase on this when (if?) City do begin negotiations.
