In a new interview with her A Wrinkle In Time co-star, Reese Witherspoon is opening up to Oprah Winfrey about once being in an abusive relationship and her hard decision to leave. "Everybody was acting like they were afraid and they were having the conversation", Winfrey said, adding that she remembered how Witherspoon acted and felt toward the scandal.

Oprah Winfrey sat down for an emotional conversation with actress Salma Hayek as part of her Super Soul Sunday Conversation special, during which it was revealed how greatly Harvey Weinstein had affected Reese Witherspoon. The 41-year-old actress said leaving her lousy romance was one of the decisions which prompted her to fulfill her destiny as the creator of an all-female media company as well as a prime facilitator of the Times Up initiative.

Describing the Big little Lies star's reaction Oprah continued: 'I remember Reese saying, "Oh god, this is just so upsetting". Oprah said: "I was on set with Reese Witherspoon, who has since spoken out ... and some other actresses, who haven't spoken out, so I won't say who they were, and this was like two days after the Harvey scandal had broken in "The New York Times". And someone mentions his name, I start tearing up.

"[I feel] true disgust at the director who assaulted me when I was 16 years old and anger at the agents and the producers who made me feel that silence was a condition of my employment", Witherspoon said at Elle's 24th annual Women in Hollywood Celebration.

Reese was joined by her fellow castmate, Mindy Kaling - formerly from The Office - and they both claimed they had dealt with similar relationships which prompted them to move on to a more significant objective: the Times Up initiative. "I wish that I could tell you that was an isolated incident in my career, but sadly it wasn't". 'I was paranoid. I lived in fear.

Witherspoon later claimed that she was sexually assaulted by a director when she was 16. I tried to get out.

Weinstein has since issued an apology for what he referred to as "his boorish behavior", although cited the "creative friction on Frida" as being a force that 'served to drive the project to perfection'. "For 25 years, I've been the only woman on set", she previously told The Hollywood Reporter.
