PM Narendra Modi meets CEOs at India-Oman Business Meet

Following the bilateral discussions, India and Oman signed eight agreements, related to defence, health and tourism.

"Participated in the India-Oman Business meet this morning".

"India and Oman are now going to embark on a new and stronger relationship with far greater momentum and energy than ever before", said Modi during his address.

To give a fillip to investment and economic development and diversification in India and Oman, Modi said, "To improve the relationship between Oman and India, we have set up many technological and energy-based institutions".

Muscat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met with industry leaders of the Gulf and West Asia region at the India-Oman business meeting here during which he pitched India as an attractive destination to do business.

"This Oman visit is one I will cherish for a long time to come".

"Your Majesty Sultan Qaboos, my deep gratitude to you and the people of Oman for the tremendous support, goodwill and affection".

"We are deeply honoured and we look forward to the forthcoming 50th anniversary of your stewardship of Oman", he said as he concluded his three-nation visit to the Palestine, the UAE and Oman.

Oman is a strategic partner of India in the Gulf and an important interlocutor at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Arab League and Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).

Annexure to the MoU on Military Cooperation.

An MoU on academic and scholarly cooperation between National Defence College, Sultanate of Oman and the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses. The prime minister arrived in Muscat on Sunday where he attended a special dinner hosted by the Sultan Sayyid Qaboos Bin Said Al Said of Oman. The temple is one of the oldest of the region and is located in the Matrah area near Sultan's Palace. He will also visit Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque before heading back to Delhi.

In Oman, there are over eight lakh Indians and they constitute the largest expatriate community. PM Modi also addressed almost 20,000 Indian expatriates in Oman who gathered to hear him at the Sultan Qaboos Stadium in Muscat.
