Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said Union Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha has assured her that he would look into the issue of increase in air fares between Delhi and Srinagar. On Thursday, right-wing outfit "Hindu Ekta Manch" organised a protest in Kathua, where supporters bearing the Indian national flag were seen chanting pro-Hindutva slogans and demanding the release of SPO Deepak Khajuria, who was arrested on February 10 by a special investigation team (SIT) of Jammu and Kashmir Police probing into the crime.
Meanwhile, National Conference Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu took to twitter saying:"Led BJP leader and leader of Hindu Ekta Manch, the people in large numbers took out a rally from Ghagwal to Hiranagar (Kathua) protesting against the arrest of Deepak in rape and brutal murder case". "Also horrified by their (protesters') use of our national flag in these demonstrations, this is nothing short of desecration", Mehbooba tweeted.
"Bear in mind - according to Jammu and Kashmir Police the accused has confessed to his crime!"
Aasifa, a nomadic Bakerwal (herdsmen) girl, went missing while grazing horses in Rasana village of Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua on January 17.
