While Atlanta was strongly looking to move the guard prior to the NBA's trade deadline on Thursday afternoon, the Hawks were unable to find a suitor for the Italian.

Veteran sharpshooter Marco Belinelli and the Atlanta Hawks have reached a buyout agreement, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Belinelli is a very useful player who is a career 38 percent shooter from beyond the arc.

Several contenders are interested in pursuing him, sources told Wojnarowski.

With the team failing to make a deal prior to the deadline, you can expect them to be linked to numerous impact players that find their way to free agency via buyout. Over 52 games with the Hawks, Belinelli has averaged 11.4 points on 41.1 percent shooting from the field and 37.2 percent from three-point territory.

The 2007 first-round pick from Italy has also enjoyed stints with the Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Hornets, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets.

For his career, Belinelli is averaging 9.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

In his first season with the Pelicans, Belinelli started 69 of his 80 appearances, both single-season career -high marks.
