The cover is Ocean's first piece of music released in 2018, and he has previously teased that he'll be sharing plenty of new music in the coming year. Sorry folks, but at least one of those is not true.
For his version, Ocean starts by distorting his voice to resemble an innocent child (a similar tactic he frequently employed on his last album Blonde) and croons over an achingly slow and handsome bass line, providing his own supporting vocals and harmonies throughout. The track, written by Johnny Mercer and originally performed by Audrey Hepburn, won an Oscar for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for both Record and Song of the Year in 1962.
Though some folks did bring forward a good point: whether you like it or not, with his unique Frank Ocean spin on things, he has successfully made it his own.
Fans of the USA musician also enjoyed the sombre cover with one labelling it a "brazen move".
