The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar's television and film production company SpringHill Entertainment is producing a reboot of early 1990s film franchise House Party, according to Tatiana Siegel of The Hollywood Reporter.
Warner Bros. -based SpringHill is eyeing House Party as the Survivor's Remorse banner's first narrative feature, with its Space Jam remake "a ways off", says Carter.
Carter likewise hinted at the possibility of casting musicians in the House Party reboot.
Exactly who will be cast as Kid 'n Play in the new film remains to be seen, but there are certainly a few actors and artists who might fit the bill. He'll be joined by his SpringHill Entertainment partner, Maverick Carter. The 1990 version finds Kid (Christopher Reid) deciding to throw a party where he plans to blow the roof off the joint with his rhyming skills, so he and his friend Play (Christopher Martin) throw a huge party while Play's parents are away.
"House Party", produced for $2.5 million, was a major success for New Line, earning $26.4 million at the box office.
