Former MLB pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested last week in San Diego and faces several felony drug charges, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department. He formerly played with the New York Yankees.
Yahoo Sports MLB Writer Jeff Passan reported the 46-year-old Loaiza was taken into custody February 9 and is being held on $200,000 bail.
His bail has been set at $200,000, and he is set to be arraigned Wednesday.
The 46-year-old Loaiza pitched for 14 seasons for nine major league teams. Rivera died in a 2012 plane crash and was in the process of getting divorced from Loaiza at the time. He spent two years in L.A. and Oakland - where he got a DUI in 20o6 - and a year each with the Yankees and Nationals.
The two-time All-Star finished second in American League Cy Young voting in 2003 and made $43.7 million in salary as a pro. For his career he was 126-114 with a 4.65 ERA in 377 games, starting 333 of them.
