All lanes reopen on 10 Freeway in Rialto after deadly collision

A fiery crash involving a semi truck that barreled through the center divider has shut down eastbound and westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway in Colton

Five people were killed in an accident on the 10 freeway in Rialto, California, on February 16, 2018. Some lanes on the eastbound and westbound side reopened overnight, but a full reopening of all freeway lanes happened at about 8 a.m.

The death of over five people as well as other injuries in an accident in Southern California lane has been caused by a collapse of a semi-truck. Authorities said at least five people were killed. After the crash, the truck was seen on its side, consumed in flames.

Rialto, California, is about an hour east of Los Angeles.

The truck lost control while driving down the westbound side and plowed into traffic coming toward the driver on the eastbound side. AIR7 HD captured footage of a raised truck driving through the sand to help pull the vehicles out of the sand trap.

All lanes of the I-10 in Rialto reopened in both directions Saturday morning, February 17, after vehicles and debris from the deadly collision Friday were cleared, the California Highway Patrol said.
