AAP govt completes three years in Delhi

Three years of AAP govt: Kejriwal promises free WiFi, roads, drains

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attacked the Centre's Narendra Modi government by alleging that the BJP was interested in keeping the masses uneducated so that they could only sell pakodas, fried Indian snacks.

"This is not an Aam Aadmi Party, but a khap party which has failed on every front", Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken told the media here on the third anniversary of the Delhi government.

The Chief Minister said to control pollution, landscaping would be done on vacant land on both sides of the roads by planting grass and trees to curb spread of dust.

He also said the government would start providing free Wi-Fi Internet service, a key poll promise, soon.

Countering the claims of Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari that the AAP only appeased the minority with hefty compensation, the Chief Minister's Office on Tuesday said five out of seven deceased, who received a substantial compensation, were Hindus and two were from the minority community.

"There will be budget provision to do landscaping on 500 km roads", Kejriwal said.

He said that there will be a massive investment in the next one year on construction and fix of roads. He said 16 to 17 bills passed by the Delhi Assembly were pending with the central government. "We will try to complete roads and drains in the kachhi (unauthorised) colonies in the next one year". He also said construction of 900 "mohalla clinics" is on priority.

"There has been lot of reduction in corruption in the last 3 years, because the people of Delhi elected an honest government three years ago".

"But under Kejriwal government, not a single new college or university came up in the city".
