Star Wars: The Last Jedi cast mock 'men-only' fan edit

Star Wars The Last Jedi has raked in $1.264bn worldwide since its release in December last year- but one disgruntled fan wasn't impressed with the fact women featured in

"Wookie eats the Porg, or at least isn't interrupted in trying to do so". It's heartbreaking to think that people dismiss them out of hand just because - instead of addressing actual issues like the rates of suicide and depression among men - they focus on dumb shit like editing out all the parts of The Last Jedi that aren't centred around men. The next film, now titled Star Wars: Episode IX, is scheduled to be released in December of 2019. While some liked the concept of Rey-a girl from nowhere who became a hero-bringing a new dimension to the sprawling franchise, others were annoyed that their theories turned out to be garbage. Because of the actress' death past year, fans entered theaters expecting the director to kill off her character. For someone with no knowledge of the force, she sure as hell understands how to use her powers. Also that Leia scene at the beginning of the movie? Either kill the character or let her live, don't play with her. In the final scene, their resources depleted, Rey asks Leia how they can continue, to which Leia answers, "we have everything we need for a rebellion".

What more can we say about "Star Wars: The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit"?

The scenes involving his telepathic connection to Rey were intimidating, mysterious, and engaging. And since its inception, we've seen dozens of different iterations of storytelling - through re-releases, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, TV shows, novels, comics, video games and the like, which all have created different expectations for each fan as what their ideal version of the series is.

Hilariously, the cut also makes an effort to make Kylo Ren less villainous, casting him as "less conflicted and volatile" and reediting an important action sequence so his efforts are more impressive and heroic than those of Rey. "I wanted Luke's death to be peaceful, to be on his terms I wanted it to be a victory". Will Luke Skywalker restore balance to the Force once more? The whole ethos behind the concept of "The next generation is watching" gives nostalgic feelings that harken back to both Anakin and Luke Skywalkers' origin stories and does the theme of "In with the new, out with the old" justice.

His views were echoed by Polygon and CBR comic book critic Kieran Shiach, who "observed" that removing all of the strong women from the movie would cause the First Order to win-never mind that the good guys still win in the fan edit. Whether its the movie's Rotten Tomatoes score, it's massive box office haul, or shirtless Kylo Ren, everyone's still talking about the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise.
