'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Gets A Slightly Different Title In Spain

Christian Bale Was In Talks For Solo Still Wants To Do A Star Wars Film

During a recent interview, Bale spilled out the beans on the matter and said, "Yes, [it was] very tempting". While Bale has certainly done a wide variety of films in multiple genres, he is probably most well-known for his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Bale was reportedly eyed for the Han Solo mentor role that ultimately went to Woody Harrelson in "Solo: A Star Wars Story". I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire of the Sun many years back. He confirmed, "There was discussion", adding, "I hope there will be future discussions".

Now, this isn't too big a change from the North American title - Solo: A Star Wars Story - but including the titular smuggler-turned-Rebel hero's full name might please fans a little more than the decision by the folks over at Lucasfilm's North American HQ. After Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern both showed up in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and with the backing of Disney, practically anything is possible.

So, yep, Bale won't be in this one but he might be in a "Star Wars" film in the future - fingers crossed that "Bobba Fett" pic comes to be sooner rather than later. The script was written by veteran Star Wars scribe Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan. I've still got the Millennium Falcon, I've got the AT-AT [All Terrain Armored Transport]. My daughter, her first love was Darth Vader.

He said: "I have not seen [Ben Affleck's Batman]. People seem surprised at that, I don't know why", he added. "I hear they're good, but I'm quite happy just hearing they're very good".

Here in the USA, the culmination of Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was Marvel's The Avengers, yet due to the popularity of a British television series with a similar name, the film was released as "Avengers Assemble" in the UK.

Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany all co-star in Solo, the second standalone spin-off after 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
