Range Rover SV Coupe previewed ahead Geneva debut

EMBARGOED UNTIL JAN 23 AT 7_01PM EST Range Rover SV Coupe Preview Image

Last month, we reported that there was a chance Land Rover would introduce a two-door Range Rover.

The Range Rover SV Coupe's interior will doubtless be a handsome place to spend time with gorgeous wood and leather everywhere you look.

The coupe is said to be a tribute to the first Range Rover which was produced in two-door format when it was launched in 1970 and will be arriving as part of Land Rover's 70th anniversary celebrations. Look for more information to be released when the Range Rover SV Coupe makes is officially revealed at this year's Geneva Motor Show in early March.

Land Rover may be known for its luxury off-road SUVs, but today it's teasing a whole different thing in the shape of the new Range Rover SV Coupe.

It's also been confirmed that JLR's new flagship will command a substantial price premium over the top-shelf Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase, which now costs $373,611 in 5.0-litre V8 petrol form and $347,611 in 4.4-litre V8 petrol guise.

The SV Coupe has been created by Land Rover Design and Special Vehicle Operations in UK's Warwickshire.

The SV Coupe will be unveiled on March 6.

Whether it's a true two-door or not, the Range Rover SV Coupe will definitely be exclusive.

In a statement, SVO managing director John Edwards said the Range Rover SV Coupe will "offer clients an alluring combination of peerless luxury and rarity".

Land Rover describes the interior as "stunning to the eye, sumptuous to the touch" where attention to detail has been "paramount".

Whether the Range Rover SV Coupe will retain its siblings' off-road performance remains to be seen, but nevertheless, it should be an interesting and lovely styling exercise from SVO.

Just a single image has been released by Land Rover - more will appear nearer to the car's Geneva Motor Show debut - showing the car's interior.
