The first season of the Overwatch League runs until June, with playoffs and finals scheduled for July.

The official league for Blizzard's popular game got off to a strong start in its first week, with a peak of over 400,000 viewers on day one, and over 10 million across the week as a whole. Viewers were split across Twitch, MLG, and the three Chinese streaming partners ZhanQi TV, Netease CC, and Panda TV. Participation in the real world was quite healthy as well; tickets for opening week at the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles Country were completely sold out.
