Missing Charlottesville woman found dead in own home

Charlottesville Police located the body of Charlottesville resident Molly Meghan Miller in her home Monday evening after she was reported missing this past weekend.

Molly Meghan Miller was last seen on December 29, around 8:30 p.m. on King Street near the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Authorities did not release any further details yet as the investigation into the case is still ongoing.

Before Miller's body was found, Deputy Chief Gary Pleasants said police had deployed bloodhounds and were checking security cameras near her home.

Police said there's no perceived threat to the public.

The Charlottesville Police Department held a press conference Monday to provide an update on the search for Miller. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt. He filed a missing person report the next day. Anyone who wants to aid in the search is asked to coordinate with Charlottesville police.

Advocacy group Help Save the Next Girl posted on Facebook that Miller and her fiance were cooking dinner when she left for a quick walk. However, her fiancé became anxious and filed a missing report after he had not heard from Miller for nearly 24 hours. "Of course she has no phone", said Marian McConnell, Molly's mother.
