Speaking to Sky Sports, Levy confirmed that Tottenham doesn't need to sell the English internationals to counter the costs of building a new stadium.

He said: "I'm 100 per cent confident that every player we want to keep will be playing for Tottenham Hotspur next season".

The statement came in the wake of rumours that Spanish giants Real Madrid were keen on signing star striker Harry Kane to bolster their squad. If Kane begins to grow restless with his failure to win a major trophy with his boyhood club, there is only a small number of teams who could prise him away from Tottenham and the odds are already stacked against another Premier League outfit striking a deal to take him away. Despite both players' attempts to force through their moves to the Santiago Bernabéu, Levy refused to relent until he had extracted the highest possible fee from Real, who ended up forking out 30 million euros (plus five in add-ons) for Modric, and a then-world-record 101 million for Bale.

"We are in a good mood and in a good way to try and compete until the end of the season, to try to be in the top four" Pochettino said.

Reports earlier on Thursday suggested that Spurs have made moves to tie down star midfielder Dele Alli to a new contract, with Real and PSG lurking. The Belgian defender is now tied to Spurs until 2019 but has been stalling for the previous year.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been asked about Kane's future several times this season.

"Personally, I never look next to me at what the other teams are doing. It's about how I believe, how we believe, and how we make things happen".
