"The flagship Rs 399 plan will now provide 20 per cent additional data with enhanced validity of two additional weeks, increasing the current validity from 70 to 84 days", said the company in a statement. Previously, the 149 plan offered only 4.2GB data for 28 days and the lowest-priced plan which offered 1GB of daily data was the 309 plan which had a validity of 49 days.
Following the footsteps of Airtel and Reliance Jio, Idea Cellular has now also launched a Rs 93 plan for its prepaid users. The Rs 198 plan is valid for 28 days; the Rs 398 plan offers benefits for 70 days; the Rs 448 plan for 84 days, and lastly, the Rs 498 plan is valid for 91 days from the date of recharge.
Under the new plan, the users will get unlimited STD and local calls and 1GB data for a period of 10 days. The plan doesn't offer free SMS service, and there is cap of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes weekly on the voice calls. The 499 plan also gets a discount and will now cost Rs 449 and the total day offered remains at 91GB with 1GB daily limit. Previously, there were no plans which offered 1.5GB data per day.
Jio's Rs 299 prepaid recharge plan comes bundled with free and unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. The existing tariff plans of Jio now offers up to 50% more data, and there are four new tariff plans as well. Beyond the limit, subscribers will have to pay one paisa per second.
Jio's other four plans will be offering 50% more data benefits which have tariffs of Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448 and Rs 498.
The 149 plan will cost Rs. 149/- and will offer 28GB data for 28 days with a daily limit of 1GB high-speed data.
The plans are Jio Prime exclusive and will be available to customers from January 9. The new plans will be available from this month's 9th.
