Iran Envoy Urges Trump to Focus on Americans' Problems

Iran Envoy Urges Trump to Focus on Americans' Problems

Trump will return to Washington later Monday.

"Iran is failing at every level despite the bad deal made with them by the Obama Administration", Trump tweeted, referring to the nuclear pact sealed under his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama.

Russia's Embassy in the United States has warned against foreign interference in Iran as anti-government protests there have turned deadly. They are hungry for food & for freedom.

Instead of insulting the great Iranian nation, the US president had better call for help from Iranians in addressing hunger in the US, Baeedinejad added, saying the Iranian nation would not reject Trump's request. "And if Iran develops nuclear power with its hegemonic interests in the whole Middle East - they want to control all of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon through Hezbollah - and if we let them do that, they will become the most risky country in the world, not only to American allies like Israel, but to the United States itself", Dershowitz said.

The Iranian people took to the streets last week in protests of a failing economy in the country, but the demonstrations quickly expanded into opposition against the clerical rule of law under President Hassan Rouhani and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

At least 12 protestors have been killed in incidents across the country and hundreds have been arrested.

Trump had warned on Saturday that the world "is watching" what is happening in Iran, noting that "Oppressive regimes can not endure forever, and the day will come when the Iranian people will face a choice".

Trump tweeted: "The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools".

Bidding farewell to 2017 with a lavish party at his private club, President Donald Trump predicted 2018 will be a "tremendous year".
