DUI driver thought Bank of America was Taco Bell

Douglas Francisco

Cops were summoned Wednesday afternoon to a Tampa-area bank "in reference to a suspected impaired driver". This was at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The bank manager told deputies that he saw a man in a blue Hyundai sedan unconscious in the bank's drive-thru lane.

When the bank manager finally was able to wake Francisco up, the man asked for a burrito. Deputies say he was in the driver's seat and the car's engine was running. After being told he was not at Taco Bell, Francisco drove away, according to WFTS.

Deputies arrived to find the vehicle in the parking lot, with Francisco behind the wheel as it was running. They administered field sobriety tests, which Francisco failed, and noted in a police report that he "made several statements that were differing with reality", according to WTSP".

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says employees spotted Francisco passed out in the bank's drive-up lane. Deputies wrote that his delayed reactions to their questions and slow movements were consistent with someone under the influence of prescription narcotics.

Police found Xanax and Oxycodone in Francisco's possession, both of which he had a prescription to.

"These exercises yielded strong evidence of impairment and the defendant was placed under arrest", the report said.
