Padmaavat is a 200 crore film which is 50 more than Tiger Zinda Hai so it needs as many as audience as possible just to recover the budget and no one will travel out of their respective states to go and watch a film in cinema theater.

The controversial film Padmavati might not have got an official release date, but has an official name after enough of speculations regarding the name of the film.

Activists of the Shree Rajput Karni Sena on Friday gathered outside the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office here on Friday to protest against the coming release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmaavat".

Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi has now asked Karni Sena followers around the country to literally organise a curfew on the release day.

CBFC gave it the green signal with a U/A certification in consultation with a three-member advisory panel.

While Padmaavat release has been banned in BJP-ruled Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, Goa on Monday clarified that the movie could be released there.

Here are the five changes that Prasoon Joshi-led board has suggested. The film has been passed by five modification and the historical drama will be officially called Padmaavat.

It is also reported that the film is based on a 16th-century poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi. Some of the key modifications suggested include those pertaining to disclaimers, pertinently adding one regarding not glorifying the practice of Sati. The film is now banned in Rajasthan and is expected to be released in theatres on January 25, 2018.

While the makers have accepted the name change, they maintain that the rumour about the film having 300 cuts is untrue.

Though Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali have not released an official statement yet, sources in the production house said the film will release on January 25, a day before Republic Day. Shahid Kapoor essays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh is stepping into the shoes of Alauddin Khilji.
