'Cosmos: Possible Worlds': National Geographic Announces New Docuseries

Fox and NatGeo are set to once again explore the Cosmos, renewing the Seth MacFarlane-produced docuseries for a second season, our sister site Deadline reports. FOX and National Geographic TV's Emmy-award winning event series returns with host Neil deGrasse Tyson in Spring 2019.

An exclusive preview of the visually spectacular series from Darren Aronofsky. The trio have all been spending a lot of time among the cosmos lately as the team behind Fox's The Orville. Astrophysicist (and guy you might not want to go to the movies with) Neil deGrasse Tyson returns as host for the 13-episode run, which boasts Cosmos writer/producer/co-creator Ann Druyan back on board as well, with Seth MacFarlane, Brannon Braga and Jason Clark also serving as exec producers. And it looks damn cool.

To prepare fans for the new season, which will "venture to previously uncharted territories", Cosmos has released a brief teaser to push its audience past even the farthest explored reaches that the series has touched. It's hard to see Possible Worlds giving up those values, especially at a time when science is under attack.
