A BOTTLE of vodka said to be worth more than one million dollars (£960,000) which was reported stolen from a bar in Copenhagen has been found, Danish police said.
But this wasn't just any bottle of vodka, it has actually been branded the "world's most expensive" and reportedly costs nearly £1million. On loan to Copenhagen's Cafe 33 bar, the bottle is just as precious as the contents. The bottle is covered with roughly 6.6 pounds of gold, as well as 6.6 pounds of silver.
Police in Copenhagen confirmed on January 3 that a thief broke into Cafe 33 in the Danish capital and stole the bottle of Russo-Baltique vodka from behind the bar.
News reports state that the bottle was made from gold and silver. Reportedly, the front of the bottle has been decorated with leather.
The bottle had been a loan from a Russianbusinessman to bar owner Brian Ingberg, who has 1,200 different vodka bottles in his venue.
It is decorated with 6.6lbs of gold, 6.6lbs of silver and a diamond-encrusted cap and was created to look like a vintage vehicle front.
The bar owner has more than 1200 bottles of vodka on display. The front of the bottle features leather pulled from a 1912 Monte Carlo rally auto and a replica of the radiator guard used for Russo-Baltique vehicles that's made from gold coins minted between 1908 and 1912.
CCTV footage showed two masked men stealing the vodka and fleeing the bar. It has been part of my collection for six months, but not anymore.
It is believed Russian luxury auto maker Russo-Baltique created the vodka to commemorate the centenary of the company's factory.
