China's infrastructure at Doklam temporary, says Army Chief General

Recently, Abhay Krishna, GO Chief Commanding Officer of the Indian Army, stated that the Indian Armed Forces were exceptionally strong and "well prepared", while also commenting that the Chinese military would not dare to commit any "misadventures". Although not in the numbers we saw initially.

Speaking during an interaction at Raisina Dialogue, now underway at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital, General Rawat said terrorists already have access to high-tech weapons and with increasing collusion between the state and terror elements, it is possible that terrorists could also get access to weapons of mass destruction.

During an interaction programme at the Raisana Dialogue, Bipin Rawat said, the mechanisms that India has to defuse tensions between the two countries, are working very well and after Doklam issue, the army has started its own Border Personnel Meeting (BPM).

He added, "While troops (PLA) may have returned and infrastructure remains, it is anybody's guess whether they would come back there or is it because of the winters that they could not take their equipment, but we are also there, so in case they come, we will face them". "Bonhomie has returned which was prior to Doklam".

"The Indian army seems to have failed to learn its lesson from the Doklam standoff", the paper, Global Times, said adding, "If India continues making provocations, it should expect harsh punishment from the Chinese army". According to NDTV, the build-up was at two locations at the Doklam plateau and one of them was "a massive, full-fledged Chinese military complex".

However, official sources said the development was far from the disputed area and well within the Chinese territory.

The army chief raised concerns about nuclear, biological and chemical weapons falling into the hands of terrorists and said these groups were using systems that are "highly technology enabled" and "transcends global borders".

"Terrorism is here to stay unless the whole world comes together and works together", Gen. Rawat said earlier in the day in a panel discussion at Raisina Dialogue.

Without naming Pakistan, he said: "We need to disrupt terrorists and their sponsors". "If that continues, we will soon be able to put an end to terrorism in Kashmir".
