Dianne Feinstein, a senior Democrat senator, this week released a 312-page transcript of previously secret testimony given to Congress by Glenn Simpson, founder of Fusion GPS, as part of the official inquiry into Mr Trump's alleged links to Russian Federation. The main questions are about Trump's campaign and Russian Federation - not the people trying to figure out what was happening between the campaign and Russian Federation.
Steele authored a dossier that revealed several alarming issues about Trump, including his questionable business dealings within Russian Federation as well as an alleged incident involving the candidate previously hiring prostitutes to urinate on a bed once slept in by former President Barack Obama.
I think the recent publicity (and movie) about the heroics of Daniel Ellsberg in releasing the Pentagon Papers has encouraged political leaders, including Feinstein, to expose government corruption.
"[Rep. Kevin] McCarthy apparently was not the only one concerned by Trump's seeming agreement with Feinstein".
Now that Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D. "Must have tough Primary!"
"There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no collusion, & yet on and on it goes", he tweeted. They will all be disgraced as slimy traitors in the eyes of the entire world and of history in perpetuity.
Baker Hostetler attorneys David Rivkin Jr. and Lee Casey argued that Trump should put special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian probe into the hands of a Republican-controlled Congress.
The question here is whether Feinstein's decision to publicize the document was justified in the face of an ongoing investigation.
"When they have no collusion and nobody's found any collusion at any level, it seems unlikely that you'd even have an interview", Mr Trump said during a joint news conference with Norway's leader. But what Trump's constant personal commentary regarding the allegations against him reveal are the thoughts of a leader who embraces the first amendment only when it applies to himself and his supporters.
He said: "In the early stage of an investigation, you know, particularly of Donald Trump you want to get every lawsuit the guy's ever been in".
Cohen, like many of Trump's aides and allies, has been harshly critical of some national news outlets. Reading the transcript, one must keep in mind Simpson's ardent efforts to keep the true nature of the project hidden.
Among the most startling statements made during Simpson's interview was when he said that "somebody's already been killed" as a result of the dossier's publication.
