Broncos WR Carlos Henderson was arrested for possession of marijuana after a routine traffic stop on Sunday. where he tried (and failed) to eat the evidence, according to cops.
The officer stated upon opening his door, he immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the Yukon.
He was pulled over for driving 84 in a 60 miles per hour zone, and police noticed a "strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle" when they approached Henderson's SUV. When he told Aviles-Jimenez why he stopped her and that he could smell marijuana, both the driver and Henderson said they hadn't been smoking and didn't have any marijuana in the vehicle. The arrest occurred about 30 miles from the Louisiana Tech campus where Henderson was a student prior to entering the NFL.

Henderson suffered a thumb injury during preseason and was placed on injured reserve for the entire season after undergoing surgery.
"We are aware of the issue involving Carlos Henderson and are gathering more information", the Broncos said in a statement issued Sunday night.
In addition to potential punishment from the Broncos, Henderson could face discipline from the National Football League for violating its personal conduct policy. Officers discovered marijuana near the passenger seat and when searching Henderson's mouth, were able to discover a "thick green residue".
