Rajkot district collector Vikrant Pandey confirmed that the three girls were identified as Kijnal A Shiala (14), from Ambardi in Rajkot; Krupali A Dave (14), from Vavdi Road in Morbi and Neeta S Jamod (16), from Ghamrasada at Sayla in Surendranagar district. The fire that was reportedly caused by a short circuit devoured around 60 tents within no time. The closely erected tents were made of fabric, which resulted in the fire spreading rapidly. "Samples have been collected for forensic examination for determination", Sood said. "Students who came from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir were sent to Ahmedabad and from there they will be sent to their respective destinations", Pandey added. The incident occurred at Rajkot district's Pransla village 360km from capital Gandhinagar.
