Just like the Android Go, the Alibaba might also develop the liter version of the Yun OS for the feature phones.
Photos of NOKIA 3310 4G leaks on TENAA today. HMD Global is apparently working on a 4G version of the Nokia 3310 that runs on a forked version of Android.
At Mobile World Congress earlier this year, HMD Global revived the handset, and in October, the company launched a model with 3G connectivity. 1GB RAM devices will be supported on 8.1 release where numerous Android Go memory management improvements will be integrated. Luckily for the fanatics of the phone, there aren't any alterations in the design. "The biggest difference, for now, is the support for 4G networks, and this marks the new era of 4G feature phones", Nokiamob said.
There are, however, few changes in the operating system. Since the 2G model wouldn't work in all countries, HMD released the 3G Nokia 3310, which is available in the United States as well but to cover even more markets a 4G model is absolutely necessary. Vtechgraphy points out that the new variant will YunOS instead of Feature OS or s30+, the two operating systems that powered the previous two variants.
YunOS supports to run some apps that we find on Android, as it's based on AOSP. It's not included in the report, but we can always hope to see an worldwide model that runs a more familiar version of the OS.
We all know that this won't be a very popular phone, but it might be a fun device to use as a backup phone.
The price for the Nokia 4G is still in question. The 3G variant of the phone was introduced at $60, so it can be expected that this one will be below $100.
