Kim Kardashian'sKids Supply clothing line found itself in hot water after fans noticed that pieces from its latest collection bear a striking resemblance to designs by two of her own favorite brands, Commes des Garcons and Vetements.
As you can see in the Instagram album below, Kardashian's pieces are nearly identical. While Kim was wearing the original Vetements piece, she had the look re-worked for little Northie's size. See the side-by-sides for yourself.
Kids Supply doesn't deny that the pieces were meant to look like the work of Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo and Vetements'Demna Gvasalia.
"We chose to release the Demna dress after making one on our own for North because it got such a great reaction and an overflow of people wanting it for their own children", explaining the name came from one of Kardashian and North's "mommy and me" moments.
A spokesperson for Kids Supply responded to the accusations of Kardashian being a rip-off artist, according to People: "The idea behind Kids Supply is to give people the opportunity to purchase things that would never be available for children otherwise". We made a decision to release the Demna dress after making one on our own for North because it got such a great reaction and an overflow of people wanting it for their own children. We have been collecting for years and have archive of them.
Kim Kardashian recently came under fire when an eagle-eyed Instagram account called out the reality TV star for allegedly copying the fashion designs of other creatives for her children's fashion line, Kids Supply. Charity aside, these all but confirmed homages aren't a great look.
