Kileleyi? PDP Plateau Chairman kidnapped enroute Saturday convention

Abductors of PDP chair demand N100m- Police confirm

The son of the Peoples Democratic Party, Plateau State Damishi Sango, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.

The identity of other victims who were abducted has been disclosed as Emmanuel Mangnin, another chieftain of the PDP, the chairman's driver and one other person.

It was learnt that the Plateau PDP chairman and the other victims were whisked away by their abductors on Wednesday evening along Jere Road in Kaduna State.

The former minister was said to have left Jos around 2pm for Abuja for the party's National Convention when the abductors took him on the way.

Former state organizing secretary, Mr. Mike Dachom, who confirmed the kidnapping said he has also heard about their abduction.

INDEPENDENT gathered that Governor Simon Lalong had been contacted by the national secretariat of PDP on the Sango issue and urged him to do whatever he could to get an illustrious citizen of his state out of the kidnappers' den. "Incidentally, Mangni is the coordinator of one of the aspirants for the position of PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus".

A source close to Sango said his (Sango) phone was used in contacting a chieftain of the party in Abuja to demand for the ransom. The family have spoken with Sango and he assured them that he was safe.

The sad incident happened along Jere Road in Kaduna state.

"We have send a team to the State Police headquarters to report the matter". From what they demanded, we are waiting to see whether they will come down from tomorrow. "The man has been kidnapped and efforts are on to secure his freedom", he said.
